Dana Dexter officially filed to run for Alderman of Ward 3 as Manchester’s candidate filing period opened this week with strong turnout and local media attention.

In coverage by the Union Leader, Dexter shared why he’s entering the race:

“I decided to run to represent my neighbors, not a specific party,” he said.

A longtime Manchester resident and veteran police sergeant with more than two decades of experience in New Hampshire law enforcement, Dexter brings a background in patrol, investigations, and child protection to the campaign.

“Ward 3 is where Manchester works, walks, and welcomes the world, but too often, that vital role is overlooked,” Dexter said. “I want to make sure local government works for the people who live, work, and invest here every day.”

Dexter also expressed appreciation for the current Ward 3 alderman.

“Alderman Long has been a dedicated leader, and I am grateful for his commitment to our community,” he said. “I hope to build on the foundation he has developed with a focus on transparency, infrastructure, and neighborhood vibrancy.”
